There - Ibiza

24/7 pounding electronic beats everywhere is what I expected of Ibiza. The cerulean sea, piney hillsides, fresh fish, just harvested vegetables, chilled cava, and welcoming faces were a happy revelation.

The club land playground still has a lot to offer all party goers. A 50th birthday celebration had brought me to Ibiza, so sea dips, sightseeing and eating were our daily activities, and we thoroughly enjoyed them all.

On our first day we visited Las Dalias de Ibiza market, (lasdalias.es) in San Carlos. A must stop for the airy tops and dresses to take you from day to night. After A couple of hours of shopping we were ready to cool off in the Mediterranean at Cala Jondal. Slipping on our Las Dalias finds we hopped over to El Silencio (@elsilencioibiza) for sunset drinks and dinner.

Shopping and sightseeing in Ibiza town, Eivissa was on the agenda for day two. We picked up souvenirs for the folks back at home then made our way to explore Dalt Vila, the fortified old town sitting above Eivissa. But first a charcuterie board and glass of Rosé beckoned to us from a cafe across from the Mercat Vell. We spent the afternoon climbing the ancient and steep cobblestone streets. Exploring the hidden nooks and hilltop view of the town and sea below wore us out. We made our way back to the hotel Ca n’ Arabi(www.canarabi.com) for a much needed afternoon swim. Before we knew it it was time to get ready for the birthday celebration dinner at the Beach Caves restaurant (thebeachcavesibiza.com). The entire night was a treat, kicking things off with a beautiful sunset over a spectacular view.

The final day we took a 30 minute ferry ride to Formentera. A delightful trip with dolphins following us for part of the way. We rented a car and drove to Platja es arenals, and couldn’t wait to jump into the clear water. Ready to fill up and quench our thirst, we walked a few steps over to Insula Beach restaurant. I enjoyed a delicious grilled amberjack while bopping to the DJ. From there we drove to Cala Saona to take in the last sunset of this trip. We were back on the ferry heading to Ibiza as the sun dipped into the sea.

This was the trip of a lifetime, with wonderful friends sharing unforgettable moments. I recommend a trip to Ibiza to one and all.
